I need a deep penetrating wood finish?
I am basically trying to stabilize some maple Spalted at home. I have tried this line research but without success (except for scales small knife). My pieces are larger (for the covers of guitar) and to have it treated professionally cost a fortune. I'd like to try something myself instead! Any suggestions?
He had a furniture repair / emptying of the store and worked in a series of guitars. did some research and found that fine acoustic guitars are French polished ... long. (lots of recipes online) and sometimes varnished or lacquered. Shot on the cheap lacquer, but not touch or a fine old instruments. solid-body guitars are just pieces of wood w / no resonant qualities Only filled and lacquered the hell out of them. Look at the sites of luthiers materials, tools and finishes. Best regards
