Bowles convert wood (hobby) many questions ..?
OK, what this man makes these wooden bowls on his lathe ago, asked me if I would make a ... so I did ... he helped me with the whole process ... is very good, sells. but I mad two bowls, he helped and that was awsome. im trying to make this my own hobby because I really enjo it. So I have a very large wood lathe, I have some high speed Chislean ... (who are the pious), but I'm using them to practice with, for now. So I want to know is how long the need for wood to dry before using, or you can bowl, while the wood is still green? Is there a website that tells what each Chislean is and what is used for? I need all the information I can get to turn bowls on a lathe, the drying process, any and all information on vessels making it through .. i can ask big man group, but he lives about 2 hours from me, and I later learned that he is a pervert important, and I'm very comfortable with him ...
Yes, you can turn wood green, in fact, turn green rather than when it is dry. The secret to turning green wood is itself a bit big then set it aside for leave to dry. Then you can turn the cup want.I intention that you personally want to refer to what I want to let the dry container of imperfections natural that they will receive. Downey can also apply to the cup after a turn green to prevent cracking, then after it dries sand and finish. There are a lot of websites and magazines that will be useful for you, not to mention that it is likely to be a wood turners guild in your area. Good luck, is a great hobby to have.
