Unless object has cone machined on it which fits perfectly with the cone axis, or is that perfectly match wire external thread on the shaft (two things which almost never happens), an accessories should be used to mount an object on the axis. An object can be bolted or screwed to a faceplate, a large flat disk that reaches the axis. Alternatively faceplate dogs may be used to set the work in the faceplate.
