Can not make weight in a boxing match, if you're too light?
Most fighters do not make the weight in boxing (eg, Frankie Gavin for the Olympics), and therefore can not fight. If you are under weight, however, can still fight? For example, if you want to compete as a welterweight, can be lighter than 140 pounds? I ask because if the fight was canceled Kotelnik Khan (in the light-welterweight), John Murray then you should step in Khan fight, presumably would remain in light .. Can a lightweight bout a light-welterweight? I suppose there would be at the belt line and Khan really light weight. In addition, Murray was over weight when he fought Lawton, but could still fight, but not for a belt. Why? If he does not did the weight should not be allowed to fight at all, much less have the effect of adding to his 27-0 record.
The general rule about making weight it can not exceed (have more) of a certain weight. There is no rule about being under that weight. So fought Floyd Mayweather, Oscar De La Hoya at 154 pounds maximum one, but Floyd weighed only 150 pounds, but has weighed for a fight, but no 154 in Oscar.
